The Melusines origin stories date back to the middle ages. It’s said they’re shapeshifter merbeings that represent the merging of the natural and supernatural worlds. Part mer, part fae, and part dragon, they are depicted with two tails that are only seen when they enter the water allowing them to appear human on land.
