Wisdom from Rebecca Conran:

"This Super Moon in Taurus is the closest the moon will appear to earth in 68 years, it's going to appear huge, and it will probably feel like a massive release to most of us. This is good, we sure do need it! Taurus helps us to connect to our senses, ground into mother nature and our bodies and really be present to the current moment. It's steady powerful earthy energy with a background in Venus, Taurus planetary parent and keeper of value, worth and all things Love. This is a time when we really need to use our self care rituals, how we eat, the movement we give our bodies, meditation, to cope with the intensity of our grief, anger and fear. We are being asked to be present to the sensations and needs of our bodies and to connect into our divine value and worth. We show ourselves value and worth by taking very very good care of ourselves. By speaking to ourselves with kindness, by mothering and fathering ourselves in the way we always needed. By incorporating creativity into our lives. By having adequate excersize. By connecting with loving people. By eating healthy nourishing foods. Where can you improve this over the next week? Make a plan at this time to do so. You deserve it.

Full Moons are always about release and each of us has much to intend at this time in the way of what we want to let go of, if not for us then for the collective. Taurus asks us, how can we show up for ourselves and others and be dependable? How can we show generosity in our giving? How can we be patient yet persistent? How can push ourselves to receive from others to build our self worth and self esteem?"

Rip + Tan Feature /// New Moon in Taurus

The last New Moon in Aries beckoned us to venture into the unknown, as Danielle Beinstein put it. An astrologer, meditation guide and spiritual advisor, she is talented when it comes to explaining what we should take from these special moons. This time, with a New Moon in Taurus—and a whopping five planets in retrograde—Danielle calls on us to assess the people we have become. We think about spring as a time of rebirth, but it’s also important to be introspective and notice how we’re treating our bodies and minds. Danielle—who leads women’s circles and cofounded New Moon Circle—poses some interesting questions, which I hope you take the time to think deeply about. Enjoy! XXJKE

Danielle Beinstein: Taurus is the gardener, the farm-to-table cook, the builder honing his craft over time. Sensual and earthy, it’s interested in what can be seen, felt and touched. This New Moon offers us a moment to reassess our current reality, especially with five planets in retrograde, including Mercury conjunct. It’s also part of a grand trine in earth, making soft aspects to transformative Pluto in Capricorn and beneficial Jupiter in Virgo (both retrograde as well), urging us to pause and integrate our values before moving forward.

Retrogrades are not bad, despite the cultural insistence otherwise. They’re simply an opportunity to reevaluate, rethink and revise. With this much of the sky appearing in reverse (Mars and Saturn are also retrograde in Sagittarius), we’re being asked to take another look at our relationship to the physical world.

Have you ever had the experience of revisiting a painting or landscape (or person) years after your first encounter only to find the effect has changed? It’s not the thing (or person) itself, but our perspective. What we see is different, because we’re different.

Or sometimes, the opposite occurs. Upon reacquaintance, we realize we’ve lost something along the way. Experience changes and wisens us, yes, but it can also pull us farther from our essential selves.

This New Moon asks that we take the time to notice the people we’ve become.

Where have we forgone pleasure and delight, ignoring simple needs and desires in favor of more pressing and immediate demands? How are we relating to our worldly possessions or lack thereof? Are we enjoying what we do have, grateful or are we consumed with what’s yet to manifest, running ragged on a proverbial treadmill? And how are we relating to our bodies? What are they revealing to us about our inner state? Are we loving them, or enslaving them in an effort to adhere to some external standard? And finally, are we taking in our own beauty, rooting ourselves in self-care practices that heal, nourish and sustain?

This is the time to rework or revisit what’s already been established, what’s already in existence, experiencing it with fresh eyes, hearts and hands. Set intentions, ground in the everyday and see what unfolds from there. After all, everything begins with us.

Eclipse NEW MOON in Taurus April 28th 2014

Mystic Mamma says,

"The Solar Eclipse | New Moon in Taurus brings us an opportunity to settle in and ground the energies that have been unearthed during this recent portal of transformation. We can allow the nurturing, feminine and grounding energy of Taurus to help us move forward, by physically engaging in that which nurtures.

Spending quality time with our family and engaging in the physical satisfaction of doing things with our hands, cooking, crafting, building, cleaning, all these things bring us deep satisfaction and ground us into the present.

So much of what has been suppressed is coming to the light and it feels as though the very ground beneath us, our very foundation has been shaking, and for some of us it truly has. Our collective ground of being needs to be shaken because it most of it has been built on illusions.

This has been a time of seeing. Illusions about ourselves, illusions about others and illusions about our world. All of these are crumbling away so we can rebuild on what is real and true.

It is a time of recognizing and aligning with what we truly value, and then vowing to live our lives in a way that truly upholds and reflects it. Not in just with our words, but with our actions and the way that we live. This is the lesson this time brings.

So have courage dear hearts, see what needs to be seen, feel it, and allow the transformation that is taking place within and without to carry us to the new. Magic, rebirth, inspiration and much goodness awaits. "

Full Moon

Tonight is the Full Moon in Taurus! There is a lot of energy around this. Seams to be a time of digging deep to align with your truth and greater path. What Spencer King wrote about on her blog, The Sphinx and The Milky Way, really resonates with me today...

Beaver Moon

Sunday, November 17th, Taurus, 7:16 am PST

The days leading up to this Full Moon have been tough ones. Since the New Moon two weeks ago we have been navigating some pretty heavy and sticky energy. You are not alone in this. And now especially with the Full Moon here emotions have reached their climax. As you start to learn about how the Moon effects you during it's different phases you can start to have a deeper awareness of events in your life. You will know that part of the reason things are intense right now is because of the Moon. This awareness helps create space during difficult times, it will allow you to take a deeper breath and let go of some of the weight of what's going on around you. Full Moon's also magnify everything! How is the moon acting as a mirror for you, what is it showing you? How are the relationships in your life acting as mirrors right now?

Also, there has been tons of resistance in the air in the past week. Especially if you are a teacher, leader, or someone who is being asked to risk out in the world. I have really noticed that those of us who are being asked to take on a greater purposes are being met with lots of resistance to do so and extra challenges. How are you handling this? Are you backing down, playing small, canceling things, not showing up? Or are you resilient and navigating it all in the name of staying on your path?

With the Full Moon in Taurus and the Sun in Scorpio the energy is so physical and deep right now, our brains are having a really hard time understanding what's going on inside of us, and the deep shifts that are taking place. You don't have to know what's going on, just keep trusting it. It is a really uncomfortable time, so much buried stuff is being pushed to the surface. Just let the discomfort be your guide, when you feel it you know you are bumping up against an area that wants to heal, that wants to be transformed. This path is not for everyone, it takes courage to step up and evolve and heal. Let your desire for this lead the way during this time. It might not be pretty, it might get super messy for a while, it might be scary, it will most likely be uncomfortable, but it is so needed. It's what your soul is asking for.
